To place a dot, we use an approximate, city-level location that Cloudflare derives from your IP address (rounded to roughly 11 km). Your IP address itself is never shown to other visitors or stored for this feature, dots are not linked to your name or account, and this presence information is kept only in memory while you are connected, it is not written to our database. This processing is carried out in our legitimate interest of presenting live community activity. We use a random identifier stored in your browser (in local storage, as "visitor_id") to avoid double-counting you, and Cloudflare acts as a processor for the location lookup. Administrator accounts and admin pages are excluded from this feature.
You have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of any personal data we hold about you. You can also opt out of analytics tracking by using browser extensions such as the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on.
