Neville Fernando (also spelled Nevil Fernando, නෙවිල් ප්රනාන්දු) was a Sri Lankan guitarist, vocalist and bandleader of the 1960s, best remembered for leading the Sinhala calypso group Los Caballeros and for the recordings he made with the singer and film star Rukmani Devi.
Fernando was a versatile acoustic guitarist and singer who built his reputation on the variety-show and concert circuit. His group Los Caballeros emerged in the early to mid 1960s, bringing a calypso-tinged sound to popular Sinhala music of the era. In the mid 1960s Rukmani Devi joined the group, and the pairing produced several of the songs Neville Fernando is still remembered for today.
The duets recorded by Nevil Fernando and Rukmani Devi remain his best-known work, among them the gentle dawn-themed Malbara Himidiriye (මල්බර හිමිදිරියේ) and Sandak Nage. He also worked on film soundtrack arrangements during the same period. Fernando died on 23 April 1968.
