Gaurav Dagaonkar (also spelled Gourav Dagaonkar) is an Indian music composer, singer, and songwriter, born 10 July 1982 in Mumbai, who is known to Sri Lankan listeners for a small set of Sinhala recordings, including Wassane (වස්සානේ) and Kawada Ho.
An IIM Ahmedabad graduate, Dagaonkar left a conventional management track in 2006 to pursue music. He released the pop album College Days through Universal Music India and went on to compose for Hindi films. His Bollywood work includes the score for Heartless, the track “Kaafirana” for Joker, and songs for Babumoshai Bandookbaaz, collaborating with playback singers such as Arijit Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan, and Sonu Nigam.
Alongside his Hindi catalogue, Dagaonkar recorded several Sinhala songs that circulated widely in Sri Lanka in the mid-2010s. He worked with Sri Lankan musician Dilan Gamage on these tracks, which pair his vocal style with Sinhala lyrics. Later he co-founded the music-licensing platform Hoopr.
