Lakshan Wijesinghe (ලක්ෂාන් විජේසිංහ, also spelled Lakshan Wijesingha) is a Sri Lankan singer best known as the duet partner of Romesh Sugathapala on a run of popular Sinhala songs, including the widely shared Ran Ukule (රන් උකුලේ).
Lakshan Wijesinghe is most often heard alongside Romesh Sugathapala, with whom he recorded several duets that circulated widely on Sri Lankan radio and on YouTube. The pairing is commonly credited simply as “Romesh & Lakshan,” and their songs remain in steady rotation among Sinhala music listeners at home and in the diaspora.
His best-known recording, Ran Ukule (sometimes listed by its opening line, “Ran Ukule Nithambe Salena”), is a romantic ballad in the modern Sinhala pop idiom. Other recordings associated with Lakshan Wijesingha include Nil Ahasa Pura, a song addressed to a father, and Hithumathe.
