Ravindra Yasas (රවීන්ද්ර යසස්), full name Kumanayakage Ravindra Yasas, is a Sri Lankan actor, singer and dramatist born on 20 April 1964 in Matara. He is widely associated with comedy and political satire on the Sinhala stage, screen and radio, and is remembered in song chiefly for the popular number from his stage play Raja Kapuru.
Yasas made his stage debut in 1984 with Abuddassa Kolama and moved into cinema in 1995 with the film Ayoma, going on to a long run of comedy roles in films and teledramas. He won a Sumathi Merit Award in 1999 for his work in the teledrama Avul Haraya. Alongside acting he worked as a radio host and released the satirical album Anda Manda Virindu, carrying his comic, topical style into music.
His best-known song, Suwanda Saban (සුවඳ සබන්), comes from the Raja Kapuru stage production and remains the work listeners most often look up under his name. Lyrics-lk hosts that recording along with two related versions, presenting the Sinhala lyrics with English translation and transliteration.
Beyond music, Ravindra Yasas Kumanayake has remained active in Sri Lankan theatre and television. He is married to theatre director Kokilani Benaragama, and their son Kasun Chamara is also an actor and singer.
