Dinith Ridmika (also spelled Dinith Ridhmika, දිනිත් රිද්මික) is a Sri Lankan vocalist best known as one of the singers on the soundtrack of the 2015 children’s musical film Ho Gaana Pokuna (The Singing Pond), where he sang alongside Dewmini Fernando, Thrishala Wijesinghe, Banuka Senevirathna and Nishami Nishara.
Ridmika’s recorded work centres on the music of Ho Gaana Pokuna, a film directed by Indika Ferdinando with a score composed by Dinesh Subasinghe. The soundtrack pairs traditional Sinhala folk imagery with a contemporary arrangement, and Dinith Ridmika appears as part of the ensemble of young vocalists who carry its songs.
The film itself was widely recognised on the festival circuit, taking honours that included the Teacher’s Choice Prize at the Chicago International Children’s Film Festival and the City of Zlín Award at the Zlín Film Festival, while the music drew Best Original Score and Best Film Song awards at the Sri Lankan film award ceremonies. That visibility carried the soundtrack’s songs, and Ridmika’s contributions to them, to a wide audience.
