Kolitha Bhanu Dissanayake (also spelled Kolitha Bhanu Disanayaka, කෝලිත භානු දිසානායක) is a Sri Lankan vocalist and music academic. Alongside a performing career in Sinhala song, he is a Professor of Music at the University of the Visual and Performing Arts (UVPA) in Colombo, where he has taught in the Faculty of Music and the Department of Musicology.
Dissanayake works in the classically grounded, lyric-led tradition of Sinhala song rather than commercial pop. His recordings span studio releases and concert material, and his catalogue reaches from early work such as the album Inspiration (2004) through later singles including Sansara Sandawathiya and Igila Yai. His music is carried on Apple Music, Shazam, TIDAL and his own YouTube channel.
His standing as Kolitha Bhanu Disanayaka the academic is inseparable from his performing work. As a faculty member at UVPA he has contributed to scholarship on music theory and musicology, bringing a trained, analytical ear to the songs he records.
