Shammi Fernando (ශම්මි ප්රනාන්දු) is a Sri Lankan pop singer who came to wider notice through the Hiru Star televised singing competition and built a run of Sinhala singles from 2020 onward. He is known for radio-friendly love songs delivered in a clear, contemporary pop style.
Fernando’s profile grew out of his appearance on Hiru Star, the reality singing show broadcast on Hiru TV, after which he began releasing his own tracks. His 2020 material, including singles such as Ba Nawathanna (බෑ නවතන්න) and Obai Devudu, circulated widely on YouTube and Sri Lankan music portals and established him with younger listeners. He has continued releasing music through the following years, with later singles appearing on Spotify and Apple Music.
