Yureni Noshika (යුරේනි නොෂිකා, full name Yureni Noshika Gunasekara) is a Sri Lankan actress, singer, and media personality. Best known on screen, she crossed into music in the mid-2010s with pop singles such as Saree Pote and Chewing Gum Wage Kollo, which carried her name from film and television into the Sinhala pop charts.
Noshika was born on 29 January 1984 in Borella, Colombo, and was educated at Methodist College. She entered the public eye through modelling and beauty pageants before moving into commercials, television, and cinema, the path that established her as a screen performer first and a recording artist second.
After building a following as an actress in Sri Lankan television and film, Noshika began releasing music. Her debut single Saree Pote (සාරි පොටේ) arrived in 2015, a playful pop number that introduced her singing voice to a wide audience. She followed it in 2017 with Chewing Gum Wage Kollo, a light, contemporary track that leaned on her on-screen popularity to find listeners. Alongside the music she continued acting in films including Nino Live, Rush, and Night Rider.
Her music sits in the upbeat, modern Sinhala pop lane: catchy, radio-friendly singles aimed at a younger audience rather than the classical or folk traditions. The songs are most often searched simply as Yureni Noshika songs, and listeners also look for them under the spelling Yureni Noshika lyrics when seeking the words and meaning.
