Adeera Shamal (also spelled Adheera Shamal) is a Sri Lankan pop singer known for a catalogue of original songs and Sinhala cover versions circulated through SoundCloud and YouTube. His best-known recordings include “Mulawee Giya Kumari” and the duet “Wasi Daka”.
Shamal built his following online, releasing tracks through his official SoundCloud and YouTube channels rather than the traditional radio and television route. His output mixes original compositions with Sinhala-language cover versions of popular songs, a path common to a generation of Sri Lankan singers who reached audiences first through streaming.
One of his signature releases, Mulawee Giya Kumari, sets words by lyricist Upul Shantha Sannasgala to music by Suresh Maliyadda. Another well-circulated track, Mage Hitha Pura, is a Sinhala rendition of the Hindi song “Tum Hi Ho”.
Shamal recorded the duet Wasi Daka with singer Raini Gunathilaka (also credited as Raini Charuka), a pairing that remains among his most shared performances.
