Ajith Ariyarathna (අජිත් ආරියරත්න; also spelled Ajith Ariyaratne) was a Sri Lankan singer known for a steady run of romantic Sinhala songs from the mid-2000s onward. His warm, melody-led ballads, carried on platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify and Sri Lankan lyric archives, kept him a familiar voice on local radio for nearly two decades.
Ariyarathna built his name through love songs rather than film playback work. His 2005 album Thani Wenna Ida Denna (තනිවෙන්න ඉඩ දෙන්න) gathered several of his best-remembered tracks and remains the anchor of his recorded output. He continued releasing material across the following years, including singles such as “Sudu Mudu Madahase” and “Piyamba Hemin”, and performed alongside the Sahara band.
