Bhanuka Senevirathna (also spelled Banuka Senevirathna) is a Sri Lankan singer best known for his vocals on the soundtrack of the 2015 children’s musical film Ho Gaana Pokuna (හෝ ගාන පොකුන), one of the most widely loved Sinhala film scores of its decade.
Bhanuka Senevirathna sang as part of the young ensemble cast assembled for Ho Gaana Pokuna, directed by Indika Ferdinando, with music composed by Dinesh Subhasinghe. The film follows a teacher in a remote village who encourages her students toward something they have never seen, and its songs were performed by a group of children’s voices rather than a single playback star.
On the recordings, Banuka Senevirathna appears alongside fellow singers Dewmini Fernando and Dinith Ridmika, among others. The soundtrack pairs Dinesh Subhasinghe’s melodies with lyrics by Kusumsiri Liyanarachchi and Indika Ferdinando.
