Buddhika Rambukwella (බුද්ධික රඹුක්වැල්ල, sometimes spelled Buddika Rambukwella or Buddhika Rambukkwella) is a Sri Lankan singer working in contemporary Sinhala pop. He is known for melodic, often topical songs that circulated widely through Hiru FM and YouTube from the mid-2010s onward, among them Facebook Raja, Bambari Mage, and Dahaye Nottuwa.
Rambukwella built his audience through the Sinhala radio and digital-download circuit rather than the formal stage tradition, releasing singles that move between sentimental ballads and light, current-events themes. His 2015 release Facebook Raja (“the Facebook king”) leaned into the social-media moment, while later tracks such as Bambari Mage took a softer, romantic turn.
Bambari Mage was set to music by Ashan Fernando with words by Shehan Galahitiyawa, and his song Thaththa pairs a composition by Chanda Walpola with lyrics by Asanga Karunarathna. Other recordings credited to him include Ready 123, Sangeethe Rase, Thiyamo, and Dahaye Nottuwa (දහයේ නෝට්ටුව), the last of which drew the largest view counts on the Hiru download portals.
Each page presents the Sinhala lyrics with an English transliteration and translation, so listeners following Buddika Rambukwella’s songs can read the words in the original Sinhala script and understand their meaning.
