Dinesh Gamage (දිනේෂ් ගමගේ) is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, and composer who emerged in the contemporary Sinhala pop scene in the mid-2010s. He is best known for emotional ballads such as Danena Thuru Maa and Thamarasa, which pair traditional Sinhala melody with a modern pop production style.
Gamage built his audience largely through YouTube and streaming releases from around 2015 onward. Thamarasa (තමරසා), released in 2018, became one of his early signature songs, and Danena Thuru Maa, a duet with Kanchana Anuradhi about the ache of separation, became one of his most-watched videos. Several of his releases are written and composed by Gamage himself, which is unusual for a young performer in the field and gives his catalogue a consistent, personal voice.
Gamage’s songs lean on themes of love, longing, and heartbreak, set to slow to mid-tempo arrangements built for radio and online listening.
