Anushka Udana (අනුෂ්ක උදාන), full name Anushka Udana Liyanage and often credited as Anushka Udana (Wasthi), is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, composer and video director, best known as the founder of Wasthi Productions, one of the most-watched Sinhala entertainment channels on YouTube. His viral parody and pop tracks, among them Sudu Ammiya (සුදු අම්මියා) and Korea (Yaman), built a large following among Sri Lankan listeners and the diaspora.
Anushka Udana was born on 23 August 1991 in Colombo and has worked in the Sri Lankan music and entertainment industry since around 2014. He launched Wasthi Productions as a YouTube channel that pairs comic, satirical storytelling with original music, and it grew into one of the country’s leading entertainment channels in its category, crossing a million subscribers on a relatively small catalogue of videos.
Much of his output blends everyday Sinhala humour with catchy melodies, which is why songs released under the Wasthi banner travel quickly through social media before reaching wider audiences.
As both a performer and a lyricist, Anushka Udana writes and sings most of the Wasthi material himself. Korea (Yaman), with its “yaman rata yaman” refrain about leaving for work abroad, and Sudu Ammiya are among his most widely shared releases. He has collaborated closely with Wasthi and the singer Dulaj Jayatillake, who appears alongside him on tracks such as Eyage Nama Ann and Kalagotti.
Lyrics-lk presents the Anushka Udana (Wasthi) catalogue in the original Sinhala script alongside transliteration and English translation, so listeners can follow the wordplay and meaning that drive his songs.
