Hasitha Anthony is a Sri Lankan singer and songwriter active in the independent Sinhala music scene of the early 2010s, known for self-penned ballads such as Wedanawan and Obata Man. On several of these recordings Hasitha Anthony performs the vocals and also writes the lyrics, working with the music director Shenal Maddumage.
The recordings that circulate under the Hasitha Anthony name date to around 2013, when singles including Wedanawan and Obata Man were released on Sri Lankan music portals. Across these tracks Hasitha Anthony is credited as the vocalist and lyricist, a writer-performer rather than a playback singer for film. This artist should not be confused with the actor and singer Sajitha Anthony, whose best known song is the unrelated “Tharu Dahasak”.
Each page presents the song in the original Sinhala script alongside an English transliteration (Singlish) and a translation, so a bilingual listener can follow both the words and their meaning.
Every Sinhala lyric, composition, and song credit by Hasitha Anthony.
