Janaka Sooriyabandara (also spelled Suriyabandara, and credited on some releases under the stage name Jana) is a Sri Lankan singer and songwriter working in contemporary Sinhala popular music. He is known for romantic, melody-led tracks that he often writes and composes himself, including Duka Nathi Adarayak and Lanwennado Ayeth.
Sooriyabandara performs and records original Sinhala songs that circulate widely on Sri Lankan music platforms such as Hiru FM, SARIGAMA.lk and Ananmanan.lk. On several of his tracks he takes on multiple roles at once, singing the song while also writing the lyrics and composing the music, as he does on Lanwennado Ayeth and on the lyrics of Numba Thama.
His best-known release, Duka Nathi Adarayak, is a collaboration credited as Janaka Sooriyabandara (Jana) featuring Sadeeptha, and it remains his most circulated song across download and video platforms.
