Miron Sri is a Sri Lankan singer based in Europe who records Sinhala songs from his home in Italy, best known for the 2017 tracks Anagathe (අනාගතේ) and Langapatha. He belongs to the generation of Sri Lankan diaspora musicians who keep the Sinhala song scene alive abroad, recording with visiting Sri Lankan lyricists and composers and releasing the results back home through stations such as Hiru FM and Hiru TV.
Miron Sri works from Rome, where he has hosted Sri Lankan artistes touring Europe and turned those visits into recordings. His song Anagathe, properly “Anagathe Mata Inna Behe Tava,” came out of a meeting with the lyricist Ajith Kumarathanthri during a trip to Italy. The two developed the song over several months of rehearsal before recording it, with music composed by Dulip Mirando. Released in March 2017, it was picked up by Sri Lankan FM channels and drew a warm response from listeners.
The same year he released Langapatha, written by Channa Disanayaka with music by Chandana Walpola, and Mathakai Oba Ma (මතකයි ඔබ මා), penned by Shaa Viraj with a melody by Chandana Dissanayaka. Together these songs sketch the work of a singer building a catalogue across two continents, recording in collaboration with Sri Lankan writers rather than as a studio act at home.
Lyrics-lk hosts these songs with their Sinhala script, English transliteration, and translation, so a bilingual listener can follow the meaning alongside the original words.
