Sanuka Wickramasinghe (සනුක වික්රමසිංහ), often credited simply as Sanuka, is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, and composer who became one of the most-streamed voices in contemporary Sinhala pop. He is known for melodic, emotionally direct singles such as Perawadanak and Ciao Malli, and for composing the cross-border viral hit “Ayyo Saami.”
Sanuka comes from a musical household. His father, the musician Sangeeth Wickramasinghe, shaped his early exposure to arrangement and production, and that background is audible in the polished pop craft of his later work. He stepped into the public eye in 2011 with his debut single “Amma” (අම්මා), a tribute to his mother that drew an early following.
Through the mid-2010s Sanuka Wickramasinghe built a catalogue of radio-friendly singles that paired modern pop production with Sinhala lyric writing.
