Piyath Rajapakse (පියත් රාජපක්ෂ, also spelled Piyath Rajapaksha) is a Sri Lankan pop singer and the lead vocalist and founder of the band WePlus. He rose to wider attention after winning the seventh season of the televised singing contest Sirasa Superstar, and is known for radio-friendly love songs that blend contemporary pop production with Sinhala melody.
Rajapakse built his early following through reality-television exposure and a string of singles released with WePlus. His debut single, Priyawee (ප්රියාවී), introduced his soft, emotive vocal style, and the follow-up Ai Mama Adare (Yannemi Piyabala) became an even larger hit. On these recordings he often takes a hand in the songwriting and arrangement as well as singing, and he is credited as composer on several of his releases.
Among his most-streamed tracks are Kodre, which he both performed and composed, and Nirayase (නිරායාසේ), a gentle separation-and-reunion ballad released with WePlus in 2019. His later singles, including “Dawasak Ewi” and “Yali Hamuwenne Kedinada Api”, kept him in regular rotation on Sri Lankan music charts, and he has performed at concerts at home and abroad.
