Ravindra Meegamarachchi (රවීන්ද්ර මීගමආරච්චි, also spelled Ravindra Meegamaarachchi) is a contemporary Sri Lankan singer and songwriter who writes, composes, and performs much of his own material. He is best known for the novelty hit “Rusiyawata Wada Lokui”, widely circulated as the Three Wheel Song, and for the patriotic number “Abhimaanaya Sri Lankawe”.
Meegamarachchi works largely as an independent artist, releasing singles directly to digital platforms such as Apple Music and YouTube rather than through the traditional studio-album route. His catalogue mixes light, humorous everyday subjects with more earnest, patriotic writing. The Three Wheel Song, a wry take on three-wheeler (tuk-tuk) life, became his most recognisable track, while “Abhimaanaya Sri Lankawe” was produced as a sports theme song.
On several recordings he handles both the words and the melody himself. He has also shared the microphone with other vocalists, including Rasika Wijerathne on the duet “Sapura Thahanam”.
