Obe Premaye Welee Lyrics
Obe premaye welee innam saadaa
Obe muhune rashmiyen maa sanasennam sadaa
Sapathe wipathe athhara noyaa langin sitiyi
Andure eliye maga penwalaa maa ragena yayi

ස්පර්ශ කරන්න මා මේ මොහොතේ
ඔබ නමදින්නටා මා සමිඳේ, ජෙසුනේ

I will stay wrapped in your love forever,
in the light of your face I will be comforted always
in fortune and in ruin, without ever leaving, you stay close
in dark and in light you show the way and carry me on
My rescue in the storm is you
I will stay guarded in your hands, Lord
in the desert, my stream of water is you
and my very breath is you, in my life
Touch me in this moment,
that I may worship you, my Lord, Jesus
When the road I travel is blocked and the way ahead cannot be seen,
you make a path even through the midst of the waters
in fiery affliction, in the valley of death,
I will never once be afraid, for God is beside me
the God who makes the way, forever

Obe Premaye Welee Song Meaning and Interpretation
This is a hymn of trust, sung by a believer who has decided to rest completely in God’s love through every circumstance. The opening sets the whole tone: “I will stay wrapped in your love forever,” comforted “in the light of your face,” a phrase drawn from the old biblical blessing of God’s face shining upon his people. And the promise it clings to is constancy, that God stays close “in fortune and in ruin,” and “in dark and in light shows the way and carries me on.”
The middle verses pile up images of God as rescuer and sustainer, many of them straight from Scripture. “My rescue in the storm is you”; “in the desert, my stream of water is you”; “my very breath is you.” God is both the one who saves in crisis and the one who supplies the ordinary needs of each day, down to the air in the lungs. In the middle of all this the singer pauses to ask for nearness itself: “touch me in this moment, that I may worship you, Jesus.”
The final verse is pure biblical courage. Echoing the parting of the waters and the twenty-third Psalm, it declares that when “the road is blocked and the way ahead cannot be seen,” God “makes a path even through the midst of the waters,” and that “in fiery affliction, in the valley of death, I will never once be afraid, for God is beside me.” What the listener is left with is fearless faith, a heart wrapped so securely in God’s love that no storm, desert, or valley can shake it, because “the God who makes the way” is always there.
