Charudh Goonerathna (also spelled Charudh Gunarathne) is a Sri Lankan pop singer based in Colombo, known for a string of radio and music-video hits in the 2010s, including Idikatu Thudakata and Kolamba.
Goonerathna emerged on the Sri Lankan pop circuit in the early 2010s, with songs distributed through local platforms such as Hiru FM and Music.lk and later released on Spotify and Apple Music. His video for Idikatu Thudakata became his most widely heard track, drawing hundreds of thousands of plays and downloads on Sri Lankan music sites. The song’s music was composed by Radeesh Wandabona, with lyrics by Manuranga Wijesekara.
Earlier singles such as Kolamba (also titled “Colombo”) and Visa established his romantic, contemporary pop style. He continued releasing music into the following years, with Missed Call Ekak Tharamatawath appearing on streaming services, and a re-issue of “Kolamba (Colombo)” surfacing on Apple Music.
