Pawan Minon is a Sri Lankan singer who performs contemporary Sinhala pop, active from the mid-2010s onward. He is best known for the 2020 single Fathima, which spread widely through TikTok and YouTube, and for earlier tracks such as Wadimal Obe Hithata.
Pawan Minon recorded a series of Sinhala songs through the second half of the 2010s and into the early 2020s, the period when his work circulated on Sri Lankan download and streaming platforms. Wadimal Obe Hithata, released around 2017, was set to music by Sandaruwan Jayasinghe with words by the lyricist Sajith V Chathuranga, and it remains one of his most-played recordings.
In 2020 he released Fathima (also titled by its opening line, “Athakin Athakata Patali”), with music composed by Prageeth Perera and lyrics again written by Sajith V Chathuranga. The song found a large young audience online and is the recording most listeners associate with his name.
