Sachith Peiris (also spelled Sachith Pieris), සචිත් පීරිස්, is a Sri Lankan music producer, playback singer, recording engineer, and video director, best known for building SaReGaMa Productions into one of the country’s leading music houses and for hits such as “Heena Rate Kinnaravi (Sihine)” and “Wenna”. He is a behind-the-scenes figure as often as a frontman, shaping records across pop, R&B, hip hop, folk, and film score.
Born on 4 October 1986 in Colombo, Peiris entered the industry in 2005, the same year he joined SaReGaMa Productions, where he later served as chief executive. His early breakthrough came with the chart hit “Namal Mitak”, sung by Randhir Withana, which marked him as a producer with a contemporary ear. Much of his catalogue is collaborative, pairing his production and engineering with a range of vocalists.
As a producer and composer, Sachith Pieris is known for a clean, modern studio sound that blends Western pop and R&B textures with Sinhala songwriting. He has worked with the Indian playback singer Hariharan and collaborated with prominent local acts, among them Bathiya and Santhush and Nirosha Virajini. His song “Sihine”, released under the title “Heena Rate Kinnaravi”, features Prathap and Sameer (PnS) and Sahan Chamikara, and has been widely covered.
Peiris has been recognised at Sri Lankan advertising and music awards, including Sumathi Sammana gold honours and several advertising-industry citations for his composition and production work. His credits span studio singles, advertising scores, and collaborative releases, and his recordings under the name Sachith Pieris continue to circulate on streaming platforms.
