Sajitha Anthony (සජිත අනුත්තර ඇන්තනී, also written Sajitha Anuththara Anthony), born Conganige Sajitha Anuththara Anthony, is a Sri Lankan actor and pop singer best known on screen as Saraa in the teledrama Nadagamkarayo and, as a vocalist, for the singles Swarnapaliye and Mihirawa Awa. He was born on 11 November 1991 in Colombo into one of the country’s best known acting families.
Sajitha is the son of the actor, director, and writer Jackson Anthony and the singer and actor Kumari Sandalatha Munasinghe, and grew up among siblings who also entered the arts, including the actress Madhavee Wathsala Anthony and the actor Akila Dhanuddara. He studied at Ananda College and St. Joseph’s College, Colombo, and read for an honours degree in Drama and Theatre Arts at the University of Kelaniya.
Sajitha began on screen as a child, appearing in the 2004 film Sooriya Arana, and went on to a string of teledrama and film roles. His breakthrough came as Saraa in Nadagamkarayo (2021), a part that earned him the Sumathi award for most popular teledrama actor. He had earlier won a Raigam Tele’es award for the serial Bohimiyanuwa.
Alongside acting he built a recording career in pop and R&B. His best known release is Swarnapaliye (ස්වර්ණපාලියේ), a 2017 single recorded with SANUKA that drew millions of views online, with words by his father Jackson Anthony. He followed it with Mihirawa Awa, again written by Jackson Anthony and composed by Chinthaka Jayakody.
Sajitha Anuththara Anthony works across a contemporary pop and R&B register while drawing on a theatrical background, a combination that fits a generation of Sri Lankan performers who move freely between teledrama, film, and recorded music. Lyrics-lk presents his songs with Sinhala lyrics, transliteration, and English translation so listeners can follow both the words and their meaning.
