Anuradha Perera (අනුරාධා පෙරේරා) is a Sri Lankan playback and stage singer who emerged from one of the country’s best known musical families. She is the daughter of the popular singer Shelton Perera and the younger sister of singer Sathish Perera, and she is recognised in her own right for soft, melodic Sinhala love songs.
Anuradha Perera was raised in a household steeped in music. Her father, Shelton Perera, was a well established singer, and her mother, Kumari Shashi, came to Sri Lanka from India to study dance. Alongside her brother Sathish, who carried on their father’s legacy until his death in 2012, several of her siblings were drawn to performance, making the Perera name a familiar one in Sinhala popular music.
Anuradha Perera is known for gentle, romantic numbers that suit her clear, unhurried voice. Her rendition of “Seetha Raye Paya”, a tender night-time love song, is among her most requested recordings, and “Mata Numba Himi Nathi Baw” and “Kanamadiri Eli” remain audience favourites.
Lyrics-lk presents these songs with their Sinhala script, transliteration in English (Singlish), and English translation, so listeners can follow both the words and their meaning.
