Olu Wasanthi (also spelled Olu Vasanthi, ඕලු වසන්ති) is a Sri Lankan playback and theme-song vocalist active in the contemporary Sinhala pop scene. She is known mainly for film and television theme songs recorded in the late 2010s and around 2020, several of them in collaboration with composer and singer Ashan Fernando.
Much of Olu Wasanthi’s recorded output centres on theme songs written for screen projects. She sang “Premayudha”, the theme for the teledrama of the same name, with music by Ashan Fernando and lyrics by Sydney Chandrasekara. The same creative team is behind Paya Payala (drawn from Prema Dadayama), a duet she recorded with Ashan Fernando.
She also paired with Shyamen Dangamuwa on Heena Thibunata Kotiyak, and contributed the female vocal on Rahasin Wage, the Sinhala theme for the serial Saraswathichandra, a track also associated with Theekshana Anuradha.
Beyond her screen work, Olu Vasanthi was one of the many voices on Nagitimu Sri Lanka, the patriotic ensemble anthem produced as the theme for Sirasa TV’s Gammadda programme.
