Ruwan Kumara (රුවන් කුමාර, also spelled Ruwan Kumar) is a Sri Lankan pop singer and songwriter from Kandy, known for a string of independent romantic singles released from the early 2010s onward, including Pata Gawa Adare, Nolabena Obe, and Sanasumak Patha.
Ruwan Kumara emerged as part of a wave of self-releasing Sinhala pop artists who built an audience through online music platforms and radio rather than the traditional studio system. His first widely circulated single, Pata Gawa Adare, dates to 2013, and he has continued issuing songs over the following decade.
His releases lean toward melodic, contemporary love songs, several of them duets. Nolabena Obe (2015) features singer Nimanthi Chamodani, and the later single Sagare Tharam pairs him with Imasha Muthukumari, with music by Nilan Fernando and words by Radika Madushan. In 2024 he released Hanguna, a duet with Wassani Samarasinghe.
