Seeduwa Sakura (සීදුව සකුරා) is a Sri Lankan musical group from the Seeduwa area near Negombo, known on the live circuit for its stage shows and for a catalogue of Sinhala recordings that have circulated widely on local music platforms. The band performs across weddings, festivals, and outdoor concerts, and several of its tracks have drawn large download and view counts on Sri Lankan music sites.
Like many of the touring Sinhala ensembles that share its name format, Seeduwa Sakura works mainly as a live act rather than a single-vocalist project, mixing original numbers with crowd-favourite covers during its shows. The group takes its name from Seeduwa, the town on the road between Colombo and Negombo, a region with a long tradition of stage bands.
Its best-known recording, Kalawe Hati (also presented as “Sindu Kiyala Api”), has been one of the most downloaded tracks credited to the band on Sri Lankan music portals, where it has accumulated tens of thousands of downloads and well over a hundred thousand plays. The band is also credited with writing and composing several of the songs it performs.
