Shermaine Willis is a Sri Lankan pop and EDM singer from Colombo, known for crossing between English-language pop singles and Sinhala collaborations with producer Iraj Weeraratne. She began performing as a child and built a following in the mid-2010s through a mix of dance-pop influences layered over a Sri Lankan sensibility.
Willis broke through with her English-language debut single “Walk Away” in 2015, whose music video circulated widely on social media. Her style draws on EDM and contemporary pop, and she has cited Nicole Scherzinger as an early influence. Among her noted live moments was opening for an international act during a performance in the Maldives.
On the Sinhala side, she is most associated with her work alongside Iraj Weeraratne. Their single “Giniyam Rae” (ගිනියම් රෑ), released with rapper Kaizer Kaiz and lyrics by Achala Solomons, drew attention for its bold visuals. She also recorded “Nimnawiye” with Thakshila Nadeera, again produced by Iraj.
