Thisara Manoj Weerasinghe (තිසර මනෝජ් වීරසිංහ), often credited simply as Thisara Weerasinghe, is a Sri Lankan pop and soul singer and songwriter from Colombo. He is best known for the single “Ansathu Oba” and for the romantic duet Raththarane (Soya Yanne Eliya Aduraka), recorded with Madhavee Wathsala.
Weerasinghe, born in 1988, built his career across the 2010s in Colombo’s contemporary music scene, working in a pop and soul idiom rather than the older nadagam or folk traditions. He writes much of his own material, and several of his releases pair his vocals with guest artists and arrangers from the same generation of studio musicians.
His 2013 release Seethala Naththale, a Christmas-themed song, was among his most decorated works, recognised for its music video at Sri Lankan music video awards that year. Thisara Manoj Weerasinghe also released the theme song Apasu Gamana and the single Pawee Pawee, the latter of which he both performed and wrote.
The duet “Raththarane”, whose opening line gives it the subtitle “Soya Yanne Eliya Aduraka”, remains his most widely shared track and is frequently listed under both the spelling Thisara Weerasinghe and the fuller Thisara Manoj Weerasinghe across Sri Lankan music platforms.
Lyrics-lk hosts these songs in the original Sinhala script alongside transliteration and English translation, the context that the bare lyric listings on other platforms leave out.
Every Sinhala lyric, composition, and song credit by Thisara Manoj Weerasinghe.
