Anton Charles Thomas (also credited as Charles Thomas) is a Sri Lankan Catholic singer and composer of Sinhala Christian hymns (සිංහල ගීතිකා). He is known for performing free concerts across Sri Lanka and for a catalogue of devotional songs released on albums such as Sinhala Hymns, Vol. 1.
Thomas describes his concerts, which he gives free of charge, as part of a mission to promote human unity, religious harmony, and peace. By his own account he began this work as a teenager and has since performed well over a thousand concerts around the island, including many before Buddhist audiences. He has written and composed roughly 150 hymns, which he shares through recordings and social media.
His repertoire is rooted in Catholic devotion but framed around a wider message of oneness rather than conversion. That intent shapes the tone of his songs, which lean toward gentle, melodic settings of prayer and praise in everyday Sinhala.
