Chethiya Lakshan (චේතිය ලක්ෂාන්, sometimes written Chethiya Laksan) is a contemporary Sri Lankan singer, composer, and songwriter active in the Sinhala pop and cover scene. He is best known for the 2019 single Waradda (වැරැද්ද) and for a run of melodic heartbreak songs that circulate widely on Sri Lankan music platforms and YouTube.
Chethiya Lakshan built his following through singles released across the late 2010s, the period that produced Waradda. That track, dated to 2019, was written by Dilshan L. Silva and Lasitha Jayaneththi Arachchige and remains his most recognised release. His catalogue leans toward themes of love, separation, and emotional conflict, the staple register of the modern Sinhala single.
Beyond performing, Chethiya Laksan works on the production side as a composer and lyricist. He composed Saththai Man Doni (Gewunath Ithin E Kale) for Shehara Sandaruwan, and both composed and wrote Maage Wela for Maduka Wasantha and Oba Giya for Shabeena Zain, pairing his own voice with collaborations behind the microphone.
Each page presents the Sinhala lyrics with English translation, transliteration, and meaning for listeners following along with Chethiya Lakshan’s recordings.
