Imasha Muthukumari is a Sri Lankan playback and cover singer active in Sinhala pop, known for emotive ballads released through the Hiru FM music network in the early 2010s. Her best-travelled recordings include “Sandak Wenna Beri Nam” and “Durin Idan”, both of which circulated widely as downloads and music videos.
Muthukumari built her audience through the Sri Lankan radio and download ecosystem rather than the formal album circuit. “Sandak Wenna Beri Nam Obahata”, one of her most-played tracks, accumulated hundreds of thousands of plays on Hiru FM’s catalogue, and “Durin Idan” (also written “Durin Indan”, carrying the line “Numba Hithanawa Athi”) followed as another widely shared release, with music by Trishan Baduge.
Alongside her solo work she has recorded duets, including “Sagare Tharam” with Ruwan Kumara and “Bala Innawa” with Janaka Krishantha, placing her among the working studio vocalists of the period.
