Infinity is a Sri Lankan band best known as a high-energy live and backing act, and for medley sets that string together decades of Sinhala pop, rock, baila, and hip hop in a single performance. The group is widely recognised as the supporting band for the pop duo Bathiya and Santhush, a role that lifted its profile across the Sri Lankan music scene.
Infinity is a six-member ensemble made up of Nifal, Ashene, Digayu, Chinthaka, Thisara, and Ameesha. The band works across rap, hip hop, rhythm and blues, and country, alongside both local Sinhala and Western material. That range is what makes the group a sought-after stage act: it can move between a baila set and a rock set without losing a crowd.
Infinity is most closely associated with its medley performances, where a run of familiar hits is rearranged into one continuous piece. Lyrics-lk hosts several of these sets, including the Sri Lankan 2000’s Medley, the Sri Lankan Rock Medley, the Baila Medley, the Sinhala Dance Medley, and the Sri Lankan Hip Hop Medley. Each set surveys a genre that has shaped popular Sri Lankan music, which is part of why the band has built a steady following from live shows and recorded nonstop sets.
Beyond covers and medleys, Infinity released its first original Sinhala single, Ananthe (අනන්තේ), in 2018. The melody was composed by the band itself, with words written by Sankha B. The title, which carries the sense of “endless” or “infinity”, ties the song back to the group’s name. Lyrics-lk also features Heethala Wassa among the band’s catalogue.
Over its years on stage Infinity has shared performances with a long list of Sri Lankan artists, among them Jaya Sri, Indrachapa, Wasthi, Shihan, Sanuka, Umara, and Umaria. Working as the backing band for Bathiya and Santhush placed the group alongside one of the country’s best-known acts and helped cement its reputation as a dependable live unit.
