Arjuna Rukantha (also spelled Arjuna Rookantha), අර්ජුණ රූකාන්ත, is a Sri Lankan singer and composer who emerged from the country’s televised music-talent circuit and went on to write and record his own songs. He is best known as the runner-up of Sirasa Super Star Season 3 and for singles such as Sodi Lama Hasa and Prathirawe.
Rukantha trained at vocal and music workshops associated with the late Maestro Premasiri Khemadasa and the actress and teacher Anoja Weerasinghe, and he is described as a versatile vocalist who sings across several languages. Beyond the Super Star competition, he was part of the winning team of Sirasa Mega Sangeeth 2012.
His recording career took off around the same period. The single Sodi Lama Hasa, released in 2012, was shortlisted at the Derana Music Video awards and became his entry point into the wider industry. He has continued releasing material in the years since, including the 2023 single Prathiraawe, written by lyricist Sashika Niranjan, which Rukantha both composed and performed.
