Udesh Aryan (full name Udesh Aryan Jayasinghe) is a Sri Lankan singer, songwriter, scriptwriter, and music-video director, active in the contemporary Sinhala scene since the mid-2010s. He works across writing, composing, and performing, and is known for releasing his own original singles rather than playback or cover material.
Born on 8 January 1994 in Kandy, Udesh Aryan has spent roughly a decade in the music industry, building a catalogue of self-penned songs that circulate widely on Sri Lankan radio and streaming platforms. Much of his output combines the roles of lyricist and composer on the same track, which gives his releases a consistent personal voice. He has steadily released new singles year after year, including a busy run of titles through 2024 and 2025.
Among the songs that brought Udesh Aryan attention as a writer are “Iranam Gamane” and “Allan Yanna Bari Athak”, the latter also issued in an acoustic version. His releases often pair him with other singers and producers in the current Colombo and Kandy circuit. On Lyrics-lk, his song Pera Dinaka appears as a duet with Sajeewa Dissanayake, and he also wrote the words for Mathudaka Awidin, performed by Sangeeth Primal.
Lyrics-lk presents these songs with the Sinhala lyrics, English transliteration (Singlish), and translation, so listeners can follow both the words and their meaning. As an independent artist who writes his own material, Udesh Aryan Jayasinghe represents the wave of self-produced Sinhala songwriters whose work reaches audiences chiefly through digital release.
