Dayarathna Perera (දයාරත්න පෙරේරා, sometimes written Dayarathne Perera) is a Sri Lankan singer whose romantic Sinhala songs, among them Muthu Kata Se and Bingu Bama Bama, have stayed in steady rotation on local radio. He is a member of the Sri Lanka Singers Association and continues to perform, with a sixteen-track Best Of Dayarathna Perera collection issued in 2024.
Perera works mainly in the melodic Sinhala love-song tradition, the gentle, lyric-led style that fills wedding playlists and request shows. He is both a vocalist and, on several of his own recordings, the composer, including Obata Sitha Adare Karai and Bingu Bama Bama, where he is credited with the music.
His catalogue is spread across Sri Lankan music platforms such as Hiru FM, SARIGAMA.LK and Ananmanan, and titles like Digu Neth Hasarelle (also seen spelled “Hasaralle”) and Walakulin Sandak Awith appear regularly among his most-played tracks.
Lyrics-lk presents each of these with the Sinhala script, an English transliteration, and a translation, so listeners who know Dayarathna Perera by the tune can also follow the meaning of the words.
Every Sinhala lyric, composition, and song credit by Dayarathna Perera.
