Shrimathi Thilakarathne (also spelled Srimathi Thilakarathne), ශ්රීමති තිලකරත්න, is a Sri Lankan singer of Sinhala songs whose recordings circulate widely on local music catalogues. She is known for gentle, melody-led numbers such as Wati Wati Avidina Mage (වැටි වැටි ඇවිදින මගෙ) and Raththaran Manik.
Several of Shrimathi Thilakarathne’s recordings pair her with established writers and composers of Sinhala popular music. Wati Wati Avidina Mage, a lullaby-toned song addressed to a small child (පුංචි පුතා), carries music by Mahinda Thilakarathna. Raththaran Manik sets words by the lyricist Premakirthi De Alwis, one of the most recorded songwriters of his generation.
Lyrics-lk hosts a number of her recordings in the original Sinhala script with English transliteration and translation:
Her catalogue spans tender, domestic themes (the child songs Wati Wati Avidina Mage and Kiri Kati Puthanuwane) and love songs such as Ama Rasa Pem Rasayen, the staple subjects of Sinhala light-classical and popular song.
Every Sinhala lyric, composition, and song credit by Shrimathi Thilakarathne.
