Udara Kawshalya (also spelled Udara Kaushalya) is a Sri Lankan singer who performs contemporary Sinhala pop and covers, active on the local music scene since the mid-2010s. His recordings circulated widely through Sri Lankan music platforms such as Hiru FM, where tracks like Maage Wenna Kiyala and Thama Adaren drew hundreds of thousands of plays.
Udara Kawshalya’s catalogue mixes original love songs with reworked covers aimed at a young, radio-driven audience. His most-played release, Maage Wenna Kiyala, became his signature track, while Thama Adaren (released in December 2016) was written and composed by Chathura Warnasekara. His cover of the Hindi song “Sanam Re,” released as Sonduriye (Sanam Re Cover), reflects the cover-driven side of his output that did well on download charts.
