Indika Ruwan (ඉන්දික රුවන්), who performs under the stage name Roony, is a Sri Lankan singer known for a string of Sinhala love songs and acoustic-style covers. He is most widely recognised for tracks such as Saptha Swarayai and Dumburu Lamissi, and he reached a wider television audience as a contestant on the Hiru TV reality competition Hiru Mega Stars.
Indika Ruwan was born in Kurunegala. By his own account on the Hiru Mega Stars artist profile, he came to singing through hardship, memorising dozens of English song lyrics in his teens while working to support his family before turning to a music career of his own. He built his name on the Sinhala music circuit performing both originals and reworked versions of well-known songs.
