Rajiv Sebasthiyan (also spelled Rajiv Sebastian) is a Sri Lankan singer and music composer working in contemporary Sinhala popular music. He is known both as a performer of melodic songs and as a behind-the-scenes composer whose creations have drawn the attention of regional artists.
Sebasthiyan built his catalogue across the modern Sinhala scene, recording a mix of romantic ballads and lighter, dance-leaning numbers. Several of his recordings are widely circulated on Sri Lankan music and chord sites, and he is credited as a singer on songs such as Erabadu Mal Pipila, performed alongside Nelu Adhikari, and the often-requested Weeduru Mal (Padi Diye).
Beyond performing, Rajiv Sebastian works as a composer. His compositions include “Mage Konde Nathath” and “Haal Massa” (Viyole Viyole), the latter written for singer Yohani de Silva. He also composed Samawela Mata Kiyanna, recorded by Chamika Sirimanna. His work as a songwriter has reached listeners beyond Sri Lanka, including interest from Maldivian artists in recording his original material.
Lyrics-lk hosts these songs with Sinhala lyrics, English transliteration, and translation, so listeners can follow the meaning of Rajiv Sebastian’s recordings as well as the words.
