Sandeep Jayalath (also spelled Sandip Jayalath), සන්දීප් ජයලත්, is a contemporary Sri Lankan singer working in Sinhala pop, known for teledrama theme songs and a run of melodic original singles released from the late 2010s onward. He reaches listeners mainly through digital platforms and television soundtracks rather than the studio-album route of an earlier generation.
Sandeep Jayalath built his audience through singles released steadily from around 2017, several of them tied to popular Sri Lankan television dramas. His 2019 single Husma Oya (හුස්ම ඔයා) became one of his most recognised tracks, later revisited as a duet version with Sajee Mohottige in 2023. The song’s music was composed by Hasith Saranga, a pairing that placed Jayalath among the wave of singers driving the streaming-era Sinhala pop scene.
His catalogue moves between standalone love songs and television work. Sanda Kemi, recorded for the soundtrack of the long-running teledrama Deweni Inima, and various teledrama theme songs show how closely his voice is associated with screen music. He has also recorded duets, including Eka Dawasaka Api with Kalpana Kavindi.
Among the works most often searched alongside his name are Husma Oya, the lyrical single Nurawee (නුරාවී), and Himanthara (හිමන්තරා), a 2020 release. Sandip Jayalath’s theme-song output, written for screen, gives much of his music a wide built-in audience through the dramas it accompanies.
Lyrics-lk presents these songs with their Sinhala script lyrics, English transliteration (Singlish), and translation, so listeners can follow both the sound and the meaning.
