Nadini Premadasa (නදිනි ප්රේමදාස, also spelled Nadeeni Premadasa) is a Sri Lankan pop singer who rose to prominence as a finalist on the second season of the television talent contest Sirasa Superstar in 2007, and is known for songs such as Sapu Kusume, Gajaman Nona, and Dilisena Denetha Obe.
Nadini Premadasa was born on 19 December 1987 in Colombo. She studied at Musaeus College, where she took part in school music activities from an early age. Her competition record includes a placing in an all-island nadagam singing contest, an early sign of the stage instincts that later carried her through televised auditions.
Premadasa entered the public eye through Sirasa Superstar, the Sinhala adaptation of the Pop Idol format, reaching the latter rounds of the contest’s second season. The exposure launched a recording career, and her debut release Sapu Kusume followed in 2007. The romantic pop number is hosted on Lyrics-lk as Sapu Kusume Suwada Kawa.
Her work ranges across pop, R&B, and lighter dance-oriented arrangements. The 2008 track Gajaman Nona, produced with Iraj Weeraratne and written by Wasantha Dukgannarala, reworked a historical-literary theme into a contemporary hit and remains one of her best-known recordings.
A recurring feature of Premadasa’s catalogue is the duet. She paired with singer Shihan Mihiranga for Sitha Adare Soya (හිත ආදරේ සොයා), and the love song appears in more than one cut across her discography. Other widely circulated tracks include Dilisena Denetha Obe, Hitha Adare Soya, and Obatai Yeheliye.
Nadini Premadasa belongs to the wave of Sri Lankan vocalists who built recording careers off the reality-television talent boom of the late 2000s. For diaspora listeners her songs sit alongside the era’s radio pop, and pages here pair each one with Sinhala lyrics, transliteration, and an English translation so the meaning travels with the melody.
