Udesh Indula (උදේෂ් ඉන්දුල) is a Sri Lankan singer and musician who first reached a national audience as the winner of the inaugural season of Derana Dream Star, the televised singing competition on TV Derana. He is best known for the ballad Lanwela Imu Seethe, the song most closely associated with his name.
Indula came to prominence by taking first place in Derana Dream Star Season 1, with the final staged at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium in Colombo. The win launched a recording career, and his early post-show releases, including Lanwela Imu Seethe, established the warm, melodic style that became his signature. Beyond performing, he has worked as a music lecturer and as a band leader, keeping a foot in both the stage and music education.
His catalogue mixes contemporary pop with more traditional Sinhala melody, often built around emotive, romantic lyrics. Alongside Lanwela Imu Seethe, listeners know him for Sansara Sihinaye Pinsara Mathakaye and Sulange Pawi Awa Oba Ewu Ae Adare, both of which lean on his clear, unforced vocal delivery.
Each of these pages presents the Sinhala lyrics with English transliteration and translation, so a reader can follow both the sound and the meaning of Udesh Indula’s songs in one place.
