Chethana Ranasinghe (චේතනා රණසිංහ, also spelled Chetana Ranasinghe) is a contemporary Sri Lankan singer whose career spans the 2010s and 2020s, known on the Sinhala music scene for melodic singles and duets and for a long parallel run as a television presenter.
Ranasinghe began releasing music in the early 2010s, with tracks such as “Pinbima Diluna” (a 2012 duet with Billy Fernando) and the 2014 single “Nilwan Jalase” placing her on Sinhala radio and streaming playlists. She has continued to record steadily across the following decade, moving between solo songs and collaborations with other artists of her generation, including releases with Kasun Pasquel and Pasan Liyanage. Her catalogue is contemporary Sinhala popular music rather than older film or stage repertoire, which fits the era of the songs hosted here.
Among the works most associated with Chethana Ranasinghe is “Nil Wan Jalase” (නිල් වන් ජලාසේ), one of her best-known early singles, and “Innam Bala”, a song carried by her vocal performance. The pages below present these songs in Sinhala script with transliteration and English translation.
Chetana Ranasinghe also lent her voice to a television theme, “Sanda Maki Giya”, the theme song for the teledrama Sihina Soya, reflecting the screen work that has run alongside her recording career.
