Ahasak Tharam Lyrics (අහසක් තරම්) by Tharindu Damsara
Ahasak Tharam Lyrics
Ahasak tharam man aadareyi
Premaye naamen
Kadulu walata aasayi
Premakadulu suwandayi
Punchi aswala kadulak
Unanna ida nodemi
Daathin daathata patalaa aethata
Igilee yanawa saththayi
Thahanam prema isawwe
Malaanikawa hidimee
Daathin daathata patalaa aethata
Igilee yanawa saththayi
ඉගිලී යනවා සත්තයිAhasak Tharam (අහසක් තරම්) is a Sinhala song sung by Tharindu Damsara. The lyrics were written and the music composed by Dasun Buddika. Ahasak Tharam Lyrics English Translation
As much as a whole sky, that is how I love you,
in the name of love,
I have grown to like even tears,
for love’s tears are fragrant
Not a single tear
will I let fall in your little eyes,
hands entwined in hands, far away,
we truly take flight, I swear it
In a forbidden land of love
I stay, withered and fading,
hands entwined in hands, far away,
we truly take flight, I swear it

Ahasak Tharam Song Meaning and Interpretation
A tender, wholehearted love song, its opening line the measure of everything: I love you as much as a whole sky. In the name of love, the singer says, he has even come to like tears, because love’s tears are fragrant, pain, in love, becomes something sweet.
The middle is pure protectiveness. He vows not to let a single tear fall in her little eyes, and imagines the two of them, hands entwined, truly taking flight and soaring far away together, escape and freedom as the reward of love.
The last verse gives that flight its shadow. They love in a forbidden land of love, and there he stays withered and fading, theirs is a love the world will not allow, and it wears on him. And yet the refrain returns, unbroken: hands entwined, we truly fly far away. Sung by Tharindu Damsara to words by Dasun Buddika, it is a soft, aching song about a sky-sized, forbidden love that dreams of flying free.
