Tharindu Bandara (තරිඳු බණ්ඩාර, also spelled Tharindu Bandhara) is a contemporary Sri Lankan singer, music director, and producer active across the late 2010s and 2020s. He is known both for performing his own singles and for composing music behind a steady run of releases for other vocalists on the Sinhala pop scene.
Bandara works on both sides of the studio glass. As a performer he is credited with songs such as Watena Husme Pawa (වැටෙන හුස්මේ පව) and Ai Giye Haradama, the latter built on lyrics by Ranga Fernando. His releases circulate through Hiru FM and the usual Sri Lankan streaming channels, and his catalogue on Apple Music runs from 2023 singles like “Irthuwak Wee Nam Man” through to later work such as “Sumuduniye.”
Much of Tharindu Bandara’s output is as a music director for other singers. He composed Nidukanane for Aksha Chamudi, Dan Hithata Satutuidoo for Rukman Asitha, and both Pahasara Sina and Adara Wadanin for Sahan Kavishka. This composing role, working with a rotating set of younger vocalists, is what makes Tharindu Bandhara a recurring name across many recent Sinhala singles.
