The palace I built all night in dreams, I signed over to a queen,
there is no smile now because of her, because she carried off the life I had spent
Diving into the river of reality,
I saw the ruins of our love stories
not tormenting myself with a trapped thought,
I even blurred her image out of my mind
Deceived, perhaps, by a single word
that fell into a line of her heart-piercing voice,
stirring the whole night, seeing a thousand heavens,
growing drunk on a forbidden pleasure
Diving into the river of reality,
I saw the ruins of our love stories
not tormenting myself with a trapped thought,
I even blurred her image out of my mind
The palace I built all night in dreams, I signed over to a queen,
there is no smile now because of her, because she carried off the life I had spent
Diving into the river of reality,
I saw the ruins of our love stories
not tormenting myself with a trapped thought,
I even blurred her image out of my mind

Raa Pura Heenaye Song Meaning and Interpretation
This is a song about waking up from a love that turned out to be only a dream. All night, the singer says, he built a palace in his sleep and signed it over to a queen, the woman he adored. But now there is no smile left in him, because she carried off the very life he had spent on her. The fantasy was gorgeous, and its collapse is total.
The recurring image is a plunge into cold water. Diving into the river of reality, he says, he saw the ruins of their love stories laid bare. Rather than let one trapped thought keep torturing him, he does something deliberate and almost self-protective: he blurs her image out of his own mind, choosing to let the picture of her fade.
The middle verse explains how he was taken in. He was deceived, he thinks, by a single word dropped into a line of her heart-piercing voice, and on the strength of it he spent whole nights stirred up, seeing a thousand heavens, drunk on a forbidden sweetness. Put together, the song tells of a beautiful illusion and the clear-eyed, slightly bitter decision to step out of it, trading the dream palace for the plain, cold river of what was actually real.
